Join 30A Coastal Fishing Camp for a memorable summer experience. Kids will learn fishing techniques, participate in hands-on activities, and explore the beautiful coastal environment. Our program promotes outdoor skills and environmental awareness.
30A Coastal 30A Coastal Fishing Camp – A Week-Long Adventure for Ages 10-15.
Welcome to 30A Coastal Fishing Camp, an exciting week-long program designed for kids ages 10-15 to experience the thrill of coastal saltwater fishing. Whether your child is a complete beginner just starting out or has some experience and wants to build skills, this camp welcomes all levels with patient, expert guidance. Held at a prime coastal location (e.g., along the Gulf Coast, Bay areas or near shore), campers enjoy guided trips, hands-on learning, and plenty of fun in a safe, supportive environment.
Program Overview Schedule:
• Ages: 10-15 (mixed skill levels; groups divided by experience when possible, for tailored instruction)
• Duration: Sunday check-in to Saturday departure (6 nights, 7 days)
• Check-In: Sunday afternoon (from 3:00–4:00 PM) – Arrival, room assignment, welcome orientation, safety briefing, and gear setup.
• Departure: Saturday morning (from 9:00–10:30 AM) – Light breakfast, Photo slideshow recap, certificate ceremony, and parent pick-up.
Program Overview:
• Group Size: Small groups (6 campers total per week) with a 2:6 staff-to-camper ratio. Staff includes certified fishing guides, marine educators, and counselors.
• Accommodations: Beautiful, comfortable, spacious house lodging with waterfront access and a Pool, supervised 24/7.
• Meals: All included – hearty breakfasts, packed lunches for trips, family-style dinners and 1 evening of the campers catch.
• Cost Estimate: $3499.00 per camper (covers lodging, all meals, guided trips, gear use, bait and activities. (Gratuity not included)
Core Activities:
• Guided Fishing Trips: The highlight is daily guided fishing, led by professional captains on safe, comfortable boats and Kayaks. Trips are adjusted for weather, tides, and group skill levels, with emphasis on safety, fun, and learning.
• Inshore Fishing Trips (Most days): Focus on bays, estuaries, flats, intercoastal waterway and nearshore waters. We target popular species like redfish, speckled trout, Spanish mackerel, snapper, flounder, black drum, and sheepshead.
Techniques include:
• Casting with live bait and artificial lures
• Using popping corks, jigging, or sight-fishing
• Learning tides, structure, and fish behavior
• Catch-and-release practices with proper handling
• How care and properly clean your catch
• Offshore Day (One full day, typically mid-week): A special excursion farther out (weather permitting, usually 10-30 miles) for bigger adventures. Target species like king mackerel, cobia, snapper, grouper, or dolphin (mahi-mahi).
Activities include:
• Trolling, bottom fishing, or drifting
• Introduction to offshore safety and boat handling
• Excitement of deeper waters and potential bigger catches
**All trips provide rods, reels, bait, tackle, and life jackets. Beginners get extra one-on-one coaching; experienced kids tackle advanced techniques.
Additional Camp Activities:
• Skill Workshops: Knot tying, rigging, casting practice, lure making, fish identification, and rod/reel maintenance.
• Marine Education & Conservation: Lessons on ocean ecosystems, sustainable fishing, habitat importance (e.g., seagrass, oyster beds), and simple citizen science (like logging catches or weather pattern identification).
• Fun Extras: Dock fishing, swimming pool, team challenges (casting contests, “biggest catch” derbies), evening fire pit with stories, optional kayaking or crabbing, and making custom lures.
• Safety & Inclusivity: First aid trained staff, weather monitoring, life jackets mandatory, and modifications for all skill levels.
Sample Daily Schedule (Flexible based on tides/weather)
• 7:00 AM – Wake-up & breakfast
• 8:00 AM – Morning guided inshore trip (or workshop if weather delay)
• 12:00 PM – Lunch & rest/gear cleaning
• 1:00 PM – Afternoon activity (fishing continuation, skills session, or conservation project)
• 4:00–6:00 PM – Free time, pool play, journaling catches and outdoor games
• 6:00 PM – Dinner
• 7:00 PM – Evening program (guest speaker, lure making, games, or optional short night fishing from shore)
• 9:00 PM – Lights out
By the end of the week, campers gain confidence on the water, new friends, lifelong skills, and a deeper appreciation for coastal environments. It’s the perfect mix of adventure, learning, and memories for young anglers of all experience levels!
